The Kamp Steeped in Family Tradition Since 1926.
In 1926, when the first fifty boys stepped ashore at Kanakuk Kamps and experienced a life-changing summer, a tradition was born. However, much has changed since then. Kampers now ride down ziplines, dribble in the K-Dome, kayak in the lake, jump from the tower, fly from the blob, wrestle in the Mat Flat, toss washers, and rap Godly principles. All together, sixty sports and activities make up a day's events on the fields, courts and grounds of K-1. Then, when we add the high-powered energy of a themed-based party night, or add the get deep, get real experience of a K-Life night to the mix, kids can never get enough! Over and over when we ask kids what they would tell someone about K-1, they say, "It will change your life!"
In the beginning, exciting adventure, excellence in sports training, and solid role models brought Christ-like character to young lives. It's those things that remain at the heart of K-1.
